Great Tournament Moments

14th seed Northwestern State’s shocking upset of #3 seed Iowa in 2006 is a great memory from recent years. It is these cinderella stories that make the NCAA Tournament what it is. This game was the end for Steve Alford at Iowa, interesting that Alford’s New Mexico team barely missed the tournament for the second straight season.

Another great moment within the last couple years is 14th seed Bucknell’s stunner of 3rd seed Kansas in 2005, just another year that a Bill Self team broke down in the tournament before their championship last season.

Finally, a tribute to the best tournament announcer that there is: Gus Johnson. Gus has provided so many great moments in the tournament and it always seems like the games he calls are the most memorable.

I invite everyone to leave their greatest March memory. Tomorrow I will give my tournament predictions up until the Final Four…
