For the week of December 6-12:
Texas Tech Red Raiders: Texas Tech,who through their first seven games had steamrolled subpar competition, picked off Washington in overtime to improve to 8-0. Pat Knight who had been feeling pressure coming into the season could have his team at 14-0 when they enter Big 12 play. The Red Raiders still have two stiff tests in the non-conference when they make trips to Wichita State and New Mexico.
